About

Hi. I am April_n_Paris and I have a fashion doll addition.

This did not happen overnight. At the age of 16, I became a model. Two years later, I went off to New York to study Fashion Design. And since graduation, I have worked as an illustrator, journalist, educator and consultant. My mother was a fashionista and me…..like mother, like daughter. I have eaten, drank, slept and dreamt fashion….all of which led to this strong desire to surround myself with miniature versions of the only world I know…..CLOTHES!!!!

I have another blog, Fashion Doll Stylist (http://fashiondollstylist.blogspot.com) which shows the doll collector how to recreate smart fashions for their dolls. And these garments are NOT doll clothes, but real fashion for the modern fashionista. That blog tells the story of how to create style for the doll. Fashion Doll Diva compliments that it by “telling” the other side of the story. It gives the viewer a rare, behind the scenes look at things from FDS’s chief actors….the fashion dolls.

One by one, each girl introduces herself, either singly or in a group, revealing her personality and how she feels about life in the house, the fashions they wear, their travels, their likes and dislikes.

So sit back, relax, head over to FDS is you’d like. Then tune in to get the REAL story, out of the “mouths” of the Fashion Doll Divas.

  1. I’m enjoying “meeting” your girls through this blog. Do you also do styling of doll’s hair? My No. 1 Repro Barbie doll’s ponytail is very messy. What I need done is to have it brushed back into shape, rubber banded and the curl in the ponytail to be reset. It’s gotten very flat and the original rubberbands have broken.

    • Sorry to have taken so long to respond. I really don’t style doll hair…however…I have fiddled with a few if my dolls’ hair. You can wash your doll’s hair with a mild shampoo and conditioner. Brush it into the ponytail while wet. Rubber band it, wrapping the hair around a pipe cleaner. Let dry naturally. Then carefully undo the pipe cleaner. If you don’t want to do all of that, then simply change the rubber band and set the dry ponytail onto the pipe cleaner and leave in place for several days. The curl will be looser. Hope that helps.
